SPEAKER_00Yo, yo, yo, yo, yo, what is a party, people? Holy cow, we are in July. And I want to thank each and every one of you to the podcast. Word around the campfire. I am Mike Bitza, representing 1491 Dropouts, representing tribal revival, representing Black Sheep apparel, representing Laughter is good medicine, representing Scratch nerds, and representing the infamous, infamous Culture Kings. Don't forget to go to CultureKings.com. Use the discount code and anything over $200. The DJ Who Me discount code, man. It is July, the first week of July, July 3rd, tomorrow. Excuse me, I had to clear my throat real quick there. Tomorrow is considered America. Miracle! America's 200 and 250th birthday. Holy cow. America 250 years. As Native Americans, we've been here longer than that. Just wanted to come on really quick to say what's up to each and every one of you guys, man. It has been a week. Uh a good week to be honest, man. Um yeah, a good week. Despite some little hiccups there and a little bit of bumps. You know what? It is all good, man. We made it to Friday, and hopefully, you guys have the afternoon off or even the day off to enjoy it with friends and family. And even though you don't believe this is the land of the free home of the brave, thank God that we have at least a day off. You know, a day off to celebrate. Man, we could be living in any country, any state, anywhere, and this whole entire world. But man, we live in an awesome place where there is free will, where there is freedom, where there is a place that you can be whatever you want to be. Sorry, I am on my way to Gallup, New Mexico right now. I will be over at Fire Rock Casino in Gallup July 3rd, July 4th. While this is gonna get posted right before, and man, today, you know, I just took in the day. Today was my day off from work, from just life, from everything. And uh man, uh tomorrow, tomorrow is bittersweet, man. It's gonna be 12 years since my oldest brother, my best friend in the whole entire world, besides some other friends, has been gone, has been not a part of this earth, but not a part of family functions, have passed away. And let me be the first one to say, damn, it still hurts like a motherfucker. Damn, you never get over, you know, death, especially when it comes to family members. And I keep saying my brothers, my older brother, my little brother, they their their lives got cut short quick. Uh, it's a little different because that wasn't expected. It's a little different than my dad passing away because my dad actually prepared us, my dad actually talked to us, knew that he wasn't gonna be on earth, you know, as much longer. So that was a little that was a little different than just getting a phone call saying that your brother's passed away, you know, your older brother passed away, or your younger brother passed away, you know. Uh, so it hits a little different. Um the July 3rd, you guys know I told the story millions and millions of times that the day that I hung out with my older brother, you know, we went down a Tucson, we went into Paige's Flagstaff, and just hung out for that whole entire day. Like, holy cow. And then, you know, the next day he got or that that the evening, Friday evening, uh July 3rd, him and his best friend got into an accident, man, and man, they both they they lost their lives, you know, to a drunk driver. Drunk driver, nothing happened to the drunk driver, he was okay, but uh killed, killed two people. Man, they were innocent, you know? And it was my brother and his best friend. Um, so that hurt, man. That hurt like a mother trucker, fucker, whatever you want to call. Still hurts, man. Still hurts to this day, man. Um because like I've always said, if you guys know me personally, you guys knew that my older brother lived with me. Um, and yeah, it was just he was my big part of my life, you know, my best friend. Holy cow, my biggest cheerleader. Man, that was my brother right there, and I was I was healing, I'm healing, I'm healing still, you know. I'm healing still, and just wanted to jump on and tell you guys uh, you know what? Man, enjoy the independence out there, please, but be safe, please be safe. There's a lot of fucking activities is going on within this weekend. There's country western dances, there's rodeos, there's parties, house parties, clubs, all this stuff that you guys are are able to do freely out of your own choosing, and that what that that's what makes America great, man. You don't have to agree with any of the politics, you don't have to agree with anything, as long as you're living a free life, man. I think that's the biggest blessing right there, man. I don't like politics, I don't follow politics, but to know that I had the freedom to to uh say no to things, I have the freedom to live freely to freely to walk freely amongst this beautiful planet. Um I am grateful. I am grateful that I live in the United States, man. I could have had could have belt I could have been dealt a bad hand and grew up in Canada. Hey, joke said, but man, we we we are in a great country, man, and I'm just happy, I'm just excited, and you know, I've I've been getting some texts over over this past week of friends, like close, close, close friends. Like, holy cow, like these guys are brothers, these guys are sisters, it's just been checking up on me this week, asking me how it was doing, and yo, Mikey, you know, I I know this week isn't isn't your week, and then next week too as well. Fuck and you know, like uh, like just the next two weeks, man, are gonna be hard. Yeah, I'm not gonna lie, they're gonna be hard. Uh, but you know, I got some gigs that are gonna be keeping me busy, and I thank you guys out there, man, for that, like I said, that know me personally, has been in my lives all these years that that knows what happened, uh, to come even check up on me, you know, send me a text message, shoot me uh shoot me a uh a text message, shoot me a phone call, whatever. You know, you guys came, you guys came through, you guys checked up on me, and there's even some people out there that we have even talked, like years, years, you know, petty shit. But they still reached out, they were like, hey, Mikey, man, I I know, I know this week is uh is a death anniversary, it's what they call it, a death anniversary of oh, uh just wanted to call and check up on you, just wanted to text and check up on you to make sure that you good, you know. And as I remember again, remember, man, of somebody that that knows death way too well. I say that, man. People like that's the reason why I joke about it, is I know death all too well. Had friends and family that passed on, uh, some in tragic, others, you know, they were just in sickness, you know. But man, just just to be able to survive that, I guess you could say, not saying that I'm lucky that I survived, because I would give anything to have those family members to have those friends back, you know. Uh, but man, that's just the way it is, man. I'm I I don't know what what what God, what the creator, whatever you want to call it, the being or whatever human being, what they have planned for your life, but I know it's something, and I know it's something. Just gotta keep on keeping on, man. And man, all these, you know, all these things happened, happened, this happened in July. There's one that I would never forget, man. Never forget. And this is the this is the reason why I fell in love with this person to begin with, man. Uh so long story short, hey, story time, man. And and that's why that's why the healing process of July has gotten uh the sting isn't quite there as much, you know. Uh, because I had one person I I told them, you know, the story of my brother and what what July 3rd and 4th meant to me. Because usually I don't go anywhere, I don't do anything at all. I just stay home, mope around, and just you know, cry. Hey, yeah, for real. So but this one person, man, this one person, like I like I said, man, holy cow, man, she freaking is a champ. It's the reason why I love her so much. Uh, told her, you know, uh the the the day the day before she actually found out what had happened with my brother, and told her, I was like, man, because you know they were making plans, wanted to hang out July 3rd and 4th, and I was like, man, I was like, I usually don't do anything the j uh July 3rd and 4th because of this. And I told her, and man, holy cow. The third came along, and all I heard was a knock at the door, and this just amazing person standing there with snacks, uh, with all kinds of snacks, and just with the softest, sweetest voice ever could have sounded, uh told me, you really think that I'm going to let you spend these couple days by yourself? Proceeding to come inside the house. It was the best time ever, like, holy shit. And that's the reason why. Like, I love this person like with all of my heart for real. Um, this person is never going to be excised out of my heart, like they have that spot there forever, you know, and I'm grateful for it because I feel like after that I started to live life again on the third and fourth, you know. And you know, I never really got a chance to thank this person, never really got a chance to to even say, hey, thank you for this. I don't I don't know if you even knew. I don't even I don't know if you even knew, but when I was at my lowest at that time, holy cow, man, freaking ninja style just came in, you know? And oh man, like I said, man, I I got I got so many people to thank. Like they've just been rocking with me. They knew my brother, man. Uh again, shout out to Chris, man, my brother Chris, Superman, man, shout out to my brother Ray, DJ Tutone. They're freaking just man, the best person ever. Mystery Brandon, uh, my buddy Brandon Torticini, man. They're freaking Sheldon. Sheldon does that too as well. And even when my my my my dad passed away, man, the homie Brandon B Rad, man, be rad. Shout out to Brandon, man. We're getting him on the show very soon. Man, he even checked up on me when my dad passed away, you know, because that was my dad's uh dialysis technician, I guess what the the proper term. Oh, I don't know, man. If I got it wrong, bro, I apologize, man. But Brandon helped out a lot too, man, and and uh so I appreciate him for that. But yeah, like I was just thinking today, you know, like I was as I was getting ready, as I was getting ready to head to Gallup, I'm like, oh man, you know, some some of these some of these events just ain't the same anymore without my brother there. You know, my brother was my was my rider died to help me up, set up, tear down, knew where everything went. Uh it was just freaking amazing, you know. And it was, yeah, that's you know, all this morning is just remembering that the time that we took off, you know, to Tuba City, the drop hooked and off, and all everything, you know, and and just you know, thinking about it, thinking about life, and and then uh some Mormons. It was so surreal, and like I was thinking about it, right? And that memory popped into my mind, and I heard somebody knocking at the door, and I'm like, holy shit, it's happening all over again. Oh man, she here, hey man, I wish, man. But yeah, like that was um that helped out a lot. That helped out a lot, and I've never asked anybody like in my entire life, like, oh, you you you gotta do, you gotta heal me. Never, never did I ever ask anybody that like like in relationships or you know, like uh being a friend, being a coworker, being a son, uncle, whatever. Never asked anything like that, like hey man, um I'm running on E, man. Can you, you know, give me some encouragement, fill up my tank, you know? Nothing like that. So so when this happened, you know, I was I was uh first and foremost, I was so surprised. I was so surprised. I was like, holy shit, like somebody listened, you know, like fucking, like somebody heard what I said, and just like I said, that just that being that of like what would you think I was gonna let you spend, you know, just a couple days by yourself? Like, damn, like holy shit, man. And I was just blessed, you know, I was just blessed, and so therefore, it became a healing process for me. I'm always gonna miss my brother, always gonna miss my loved ones that passed on. But man, I like I said, I can't I can't be thankful without you guys out there, listeners, uh, even with emails, even with a phone call or text, like my friends and family, you know, they they they call and they text, just to just to check up on me, you know, even though they're having a bad day, they're having a day, like man, they they still make that effort to to say what's up or ask how I'm doing and engage in a conversation, you know. Uh, and that's what I like the most, man, because I'm not going to beg you to be in my life. I'm not going to beg you, uh, you know, like, hey man, you got it, you you know, got me keep me posted or whatever, you know. I've not talked to Ray. I've not talked to my DJ, DJ Tutone, and she's going on two years now, man. Not because we don't want to, but just because our schedules are so freaking busy that we don't see each each other as much as we would like. But when we start sending text messages to each other, it's like we've never we never even stopped talking. Pick up right where we left off, making jokes and just you know, reminiscing of the good old days, you know, uh just like that, you know. Gang he gang he engaged in a conversation, and like I've always said, man, we can't we can we can have a falling out. We can have a falling out, but I will never not say hi to you, I will never not text you back, I would never not answer your call. And if you don't believe me, test me. Hey, but I've always tried to be there, you know, try to be there as as a friend, as that. And man, and you guys have been that to me, you know, this this this podcast. Uh, I know this isn't your typical funny podcast. Like I said, I just wanted to jump on to let you guys know to have a fun, safe July 3rd, 4th weekend. Whether it's you're by yourself, uh with family, friends, please be careful, please be careful. I can't stress that enough. I want to see you guys next week and the following week and the following week and the following week. But I will be at Fire Rock tonight. I'm looking forward to it. It is my debut. Uh, I am just excited. I'm getting ready to head there to check into my room. They got they hooked it up with the room, man. Heck yeah, shout out to Fire Rock, and but yeah, I am looking forward to it. And like I said, man, you guys be safe out there. I love you guys. I love you guys, I love you guys. Let me just uh leave you guys with a quick story joke, okay? So, as you guys know, if you get like I said, you guys, you guys have been around me and my family. Um, you know that my old you know that Brooklyn, you know that uh my my my my bub, she likes uh Olive Garden, she likes pasta. It's a true story, true story, and and and we were over at Olive Garden, you know, just had had dinner. We're we're catching up on some things because she's been busy, I've been busy, so we're just there, you know, having some dinner, catching up on things and eating, you know, our pasta and everything. And then it was a guy that was sitting beside us, and I don't know if he was just having a bad day, if he was just you know, just it just wasn't his day or whatever, you know. He was sure getting mad at his food and just kept saying, This doesn't taste the same, like this doesn't taste the same. And I think he sent off, he sent off his food like two times. And the the waiter, the waiter and the waitress came over and was just like, sir, I don't know if we can send it back for the third time. Tell us exactly what's going on. And he was just frustrated. He was just like, it does not taste the same, it does not taste the same as before. I know what I'm talking about, know what I'm talking about. And we were just sitting there looking at him like like what you know, like is everything okay? And so he started getting mad again. So they they asked him, like, okay, is there anything else on the menu that that you would you would want? And he was like, Yeah, he's like, let me let me try the paschetti, let me puschhetti freaking went res on that. Let me try the spaghetti. He was like, let me try the the paschetti. Is that how he say paschetti or spaghetti? Spaghetti, ha ha ha ha! Spaghetti! Damn, don't even know how to say spaghetti, yeah, and paschetti. So he was just like, Let me try the spaghetti. They're like, Okay, so they they went, they took his plate again, and we're sitting there. I was I was eating my pasta, you know. I I always get you know the the the shrimp, um, the shrimp pasta there, and I was like, the it tasted fine to me. And and I thought maybe like, oh, maybe he's like a food critic or whatever, you know. So they bring out it, they bring out this plate, fresh new plate, and the lady was just like, okay, we guarantee, sir, it's fresh, the pasta's fresh, the sauce is fresh, the meatballs are fresh. Is there anything else that we can get you at the time? And the guy was just like, No, he's like, let me try it. So the waitress walks off, and everybody's just kind of watching him at the corner, you know. Everybody's kind of watching him at the corner. So it takes you know a swirl of it and he eats it, and then you can just see the disappointment in his face. Like, I did I didn't get it either. And he just kind of threw his superware down, he was just like, I can't, he was like, I can't eat this, I can't eat this pasta. This is this is not good at all. Uh, he was starting raising his voice, so the employees, of course, you know, they they got scared. The ladies at the counter, they called the police, and you know, the manager came out, tried explaining it to him. We don't know what you're talking about, sir. All the pasta is the same, everything's the same, you know. We see you use the same sauce, that sauce was made fresh, and then they had came to us, you know, the the manager, because we're sitting not too close to the to the guy, and the manager came over and was just like, is there anything wrong with your food? I was like, No, I was like, my food's good, like you know, shrimp pasta is good, and you know, Brooklyn has her chicken Alfredo. It's like, no, we're good, man. We're good. It's okay, you know. So the guy was just like getting irate, you know. They were trying to calm him down, trying to do everything that they could, you know, to calm him down. At this point, I'm just like, bro, man, just pay for your drink and leave, you know, like fuck, yeah, it's not that hard. But he was just getting mad, you know, swears that that it didn't taste right or whatever. And I'm just like, okay, well, maybe he has COVID and he can't taste. Hey, yeah, it's like, I don't know, I don't know, man. Something, something. He's he's just, you know, it's just not happy. He's just not a happy guy, yeah. And so, you know, finally the police showed up, and the police were like, you know, like came over to his table, was asking him, like, you know, like what, okay, let's let's start from the let's start from the beginning. What happened? He kind of he says, oh, I came in to order, I ordered, um, I was waiting for my food, my food came, it didn't taste right. So I sent it back and just asked him, like, you know, like you taste it, you taste it, you know? And so the the the the guy was just, you know, telling the police what had happened, wasn't wrong, you know, he wasn't wrong or anything because that's exactly what happened. And he was just like, I just want he was like, I just want to go. He's like, I just want to pay for my food. Uh the food here sucks or whatever. And the police officer was just looking at him like, do you want any of this stuff to go? Do you want to take your food to go? Maybe you can eat it at home and it tastes different. Then he was just like, no, he was like, it's it's just it's just not good. Can I just leave? And then the guy was just, he asked the cop, he's like, Maybe you want it. He's like, if you want it, you could taste it, you could take it. You know, he's like, go for it, man, take it. And so the cop was like, you know, he could tell, he was just like, okay, well, cool, thank you, you know. And before he left, he went and grabbed the fork and he was like stirring the the the the what do you call the spaghetti. And then he picks up some and he puts it in his mouth just to check it. And then he just kind of looked at like the manager and he was just like, no, he was like, that guy's right. He's like, this is an imposta. But I'm bummed. Oh man, I got you guys, man. Got him. Got him. Oh man, he said, this is an imposta, yeah. Oh man, I hope you guys like that one. That was a good one, man. Freaking bad jokes for days. Again, want to thank all of you guys for listening. We'll be back here soon. The adventures with uh Kessa anti-stories, the adventures of Mike and Shells. Again, trying to get Brandon on here and Clint! Clint! Um, I love you, bro. Oh man, thank you guys for listening. Uh, Word Around the Campfire. Don't forget, as always, I'm Mike Bita representing 1491 dropouts, representing um uh tribal revival, representing culture kings, representing the infamous scratch nerds, representing black sheep apparel, representing laughter is good medicine and all that good stuff there. Oh man, it's been a good time, like I said, man. Just be careful, guys, out there, please, July 4th, and have fun, have fun. Nobody's telling you not to have fun, but please have fun responsibly. There's families out there, there's fathers, mothers, kids that need to get home, man. So don't be stupid out on the road.
